McGuffey High School will hold commencement for 108 seniors at 7 p.m. Friday in the high school gymnasium.

Honor graduates are Lauren Gilfillan Hoge, Audra Jeanne Terrill and Colin Daniel Walters.

Hoge is the daughter of Paul and Julie Hoge of West Alexander.

While in high school, she was a member of the band and was drum major. She was senior class vice president, student council vice president, a member of the National Honor Society and Math Team. She was co-captain of the girls basketball team.

She received the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award; was the ZONTA Club Amelia Earhart Honoree, and received the Olivia Scott Foundation Scholarship, Pennie Kennedy Scholarship, and Mark Wilson Scholarship.

Hoge will attend the University of Pittsburgh to study engineering.

Terrill is the daughter of Gary and Jeanne Terrill of Claysville.

She was a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Spanish Club and Math Team. She was also a member of the marching, concert and jazz bands and percussion ensemble, as well as competed on tennis and track and field teams.

She received the John Philip Sousa Award, and also was a Washington Symphony Orchestra side-by-side player.

Terrill will attend West Virginia University as part of the honors college, where she will pursue a degree in biochemistry with a pre-medicine track.

Walters is the son of Andrew and Lori Walters of Washington.

He was a member of the National Honor Society, French National Honor Society, and was student council president and senior class president. He was a member of McFriends, president of Math Team, and participated in the Academic League and Science Olympiad.

He was captain of the cross-country, track and field teams and basketball teams. He attained the rank of Eagle Scout in Boy Scouting.

An AP Scholar with Distinction, he received the following recognitions and/or scholarships: Southpointe CEO Association, Washington Lions Club, TRICADA Bill Christy Sportsmanship, Washington Rotary Club, Pennie Kennedy MEA and SSgt. Kimberly Fahnestock-Voelz Scholarship Award (Carlisle VFW).

Walters will attend Carnegie Mellon University to study architecture, specializing in sustainable design.
