Second suspect captured in North Strabane robbery
A Canton Township man was arrested Tuesday as the second suspect in a robbery and assault in North Strabane Township two weeks ago.
Tyler Joseph Dague, 21, of 337 Beacon Ave., was arrested and arraigned before District Judge Larry Hopkins, who sent the suspect to Washington County jail on $50,000 bail.
Dague and Anthony Perry, 20, of Donegal Township, were accused of punching and kicking Robert Crothers III to the ground about 2:45 a.m. May 4 in the 200 block of Latimer Avenue, police said in charging documents. The two suspects also were accused of stealing Crothers’ wallet that held $220.
The suspects and victim appeared to have been getting along and drinking together while they were in B&B Tavern, also on Latimer, before the assault, witnesses in the bar told police.
Crothers suffered injuries to his wrist and head when he was “jumped,” police said.
Perry was arrested June 11 and sent to Washington County jail on $25,000 bond set by District Judge Jesse Pettit, online court records show.
Both suspects are charged with simple assault, robbery, theft and conspiracy.
