Columbia plans more gas line replacement, this time in city, S. Strabane
Just days after announcing natural gas line replacement in Avella, Columbia Gas is starting another project in South Strabane Township and Washington.
The utility will replace approximately 17,900 feet of underground pipe along Guinn Drive, Hawthorne Street, High Street, Lyman Avenue, East Maiden Street, Manse Street, McCoy Lane, Migyanko Lane, Morris Street, Naser Avenue, Northview Court, Oakhill Drive, Parkview Drive, Pierce Street, Statement Street, Streator Avenue, Summit Avenue, Vance Station Road, Waynesburg Road and Willow Drive.
Work, which was described by Senior Communications Specialist Kristie Kubovic as starting “any day now,” is expected to last through late 2019, weather permitting.
As in the Avella area, crews will be out from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, with the possibility of Saturday schedules. Temporary lane restrictions during working hours are also possible. Motorists should be aware of potential traffic delays and construction work may require a temporary interruption of natural gas service for individual customers while their service is transferred to the new pipe.
Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania, headquartered in Canonsburg, has approximately 433,000 customers.
