Emergency crews clean up at the scene of a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon that shut down Interstate 70 westbound near Taylorstown.

A motorcycle was involved in a crash Thursday afternoon on Interstate 70 westbound near the Taylorstown exit.

According to a Washington County dispatch supervisor, the motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the 12:40 p.m. crash, and the driver was flown by helicopter to a hospital. The supervisor said I-70 westbound was shut down to traffic for about 40 minutes while the helicopter landed.

Taylorstown and Claysville firefighters assisted state police and EMS on the scene.
