Celebrating America with fireworks
A roundup of communities observing the Fourth of July with celebrations and fireworks:
- Charleroi:
- Community Day begins at 11 a.m. today with a performance by Chad Carlson at 8:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at 10 p.m. in the Chamber Plaza ball field.
- Monongahela:
- The band Steeltown will perform at 6 p.m. July 4 followed by fireworks at 9:45 p.m. at the Noble J. Dick Aquatorium.
- Bentleyville:
- The celebration begins at 1 p.m. today in Richardson Park, with fireworks at dusk. Shannon and the Merger will take the stage from at 4:30 p.m., and Mon Valley Push will perform at 7 p.m.
- Fredericktown:
- Festivities on July 6 include a performance by Apple Crown and 5:30 p.m. followed by fireworks about 9:30 p.m.
- Peters Township:
- Fireworks close out the 41st annual community day that lasts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Peterswood Park.
- Washington:
- Night swimming at Washington Park will begin at 5:30 p.m. July 3 with music from a DJ, followed by fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m.
- Canonsburg:
- The annual Whiskey Rebellion 5K begins at 7:30 a.m. July 4, followed by the Canonsburg parade at 10 a.m. There will be music and swimming in the afternoon and fireworks at 10 p.m.
- Waynesburg:
- The Waynesburg Lions Club will have live music at the Greene County Fairgrounds on July 4 followed by fireworks about 9:30 p.m.
