Work begins on family court building
Workers scurried Thursday around scaffolding that will be in place for about two months surrounding the chimney at Washington County Family Court, originally the jail, on the West Beau Street side behind the courthouse. They are repointing and installing a metal cap and lightning rod with grounded copper cable. This part of the contract represents about 16% of the $1.7 million total contract awarded to Allegheny Restoration Inc. as part of the courthouse dome repair, which is being paid for with Act 13 Impact Fees.
