State police find meth and supplies to cook meth in Uniontown traffic stop
Two men are behind bars – one with bail denied – after state police say they found methamphetamines and supplies to cook more meth during a traffic stop in Uniontown early Sunday.
Shane Alex Black, 24, of Greensboro, and Richard Casey Collins, 25, of Mopar Drive in Lemont Furnace, were charged with possessing a precursor to methampehtamines with intent to manufacture, conspiracy to commit the same, possession with intent to deliver, possession of ephedrine, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Black was denied bail because he is listed as homeless and has no fixed address.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, state police conducted a traffic stop on Stockton Avenue just before 6 a.m. Sunday. The driver admitted to smoking marijuana and said more might be in the vehicle. She had not been charged Tuesday.
Black told police he had a syringe in his pocket. Police searched the car and reportedly found multiple syringes, a replica firearm and other drugs. Police also found a backpack with meth and supplies to make meth, along with evidence the backpack belonged to Collins, court paperwork indicated.
Black reportedly told police he knew the backpack belonged Collins. He allegedly admitted to using meth.
Collins allegedly admitted the backpack was his, but not the drugs and supplies.
Both men were arraigned Sunday before District Judge Nathan A. Henning. He set Collins’ bail at $35,000. Both men remain in Fayette County Prison.
