False identification charge: John William Beckett, 34, of 102 S. Market St., Carmichaels, was charged by Cumberland Township police with falsification to authorities, false identification to law enforcement, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and three summary traffic violations following a Tuesday traffic stop on Route 21 near South Branch Muddy Creek Cemetery. Police said Beckett provided them with an Ohio driver’s license with the name John Daniels Shipley, but police knew Beckett, and therefore determined it was a false identification. Police said they found 17 suboxone packets in Beckett’s wallet.
