Hearing for Washington woman charged in 2017 drug death postponed
Due to a conflict with her legal representation, a woman’s hearing on a charge she provided fentanyl-laced heroin that led to the March 2017 death of a Canton Township woman was delayed Tuesday.
Tiffany Lorraine Sloneker, 33, of 265 Duncan Ave., Washington, was initially scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on a charge of drug delivery resulting in death before District Judge David Mark.
Assistant Public Defender Rose Semple requested a continuance due to a conflict with another case.
Sloneker also faces unrelated drug charges. Semple said the public defender’s office represents a co-defendant in that case. Kimberly Furmanek, a court-appointed attorney, will now represent Sloneker.
Sloneker is accused of giving five stamp bags of heroin to Maria Lynne Frabell, 30, on March 5, 2017. According to the criminal complaint, Frabell died later that day.
Court documents indicate a review of Frabell’s phone revealed Sloneker had purchased 10 bags of heroin before giving half to Frabell, who lived in the apartment beneath Sloneker in the 100 block of Ellis Avenue.
Frabell’s employer contacted her stepfather when she didn’t show up for work, police said, who found Frabell dead in her apartment.
She died from an overdose of cocaine and fentanyl, according to a toxicology report from the Washington County coroner’s office.
