Retired Ringgold teacher Scott Frederick will present a program this week in celebration of the 65th anniversary of Monongahela’s 1954 Pony League World Series championship.

Pony League Baseball has provided original film footage from the series, which will be shown at the meeting as the city launches its 250th anniversary celebration.

The event will include an exhibit of sports memorabilia significant to Monongahela.

Some items to be shown include: a signed Fred Cox Nerf football; an Al Helfer trophy; and the last basketball used by a Monongahela basketball team from 1969 autographed by the entire team from the year of the last sports season before a merger created Ringgold School District.

There will be a rare Eddie Kikla signed baseball that will be auctioned to benefit the Monongahela Area Historical Society.

The event will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 136 Sacred Heart Road, Carroll Township, across from the entrance to Sacred Heart Cemetery.
