DONORA – A Donora man faces a string of charges, including attempted homicide, in connection with an assault last week in the borough.

Jerimiah White, 18, is being held in Washington County jail without bond stemming from the May 22 brutal beating of Ethen Sandy of Washington County, court records show.

Police said officers learned about the assault after receiving a call from the victim’s father, Nick Sandy, who also forwarded to police a video of the beating about 12:30 a.m. at Sixth Street and Thompson Avenue, the affidavit states.

The video reportedly shows White, of 432 Liberty Ave., using a closed fist and his feet to strike Ethen Sandy about the head, torso and legs, police said in charging documents.

The father told police that his ex-wife, Tiffany Sandy, took her son to a MedExpress Urgent Care center, and then his son returned to his father’s residence in Washington.

The father took his son to Washington Hospital, which transferred him to a trauma center in Pittsburgh.

Ethen Sandy underwent surgery for the removal of his spleen and the repair of his pancreas, police noted in the affidavit.

Police said the assault needed to be further investigated.

White also is being held on charges of aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, reckless endangerment, simple assault and disorderly conduct.
