Sheriff’s deputy in Greene assaulted by inmate

1 min read

A Greensboro man faces assault charges after he allegedly bit sheriff’s deputy at Greene County Prison.

State police charged Shane Alex Black, 25, with aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment.

According to state police, Black was transported to Greene County Prison on charges of retail theft, disorderly conduct and public intoxication Saturday afternoon.

Black allegedly resisted as troopers and jail staff attempted to get him into a cell. According to state police, Black bit Shad Hixenbaugh, 36, of Waynesburg, on his right, upper breast.

Online court records indicate that Black was arraigned on all the charges Sunday morning before District Judge Lee Watson.

Watson denied Black bail because of both the seriousness of charges and a history of warrants being issued for him, according to court records.
