CALIFORNIA

Assaults alleged: Sheran Nicola, 70, of 1243 Highland Drive, California, is charged by borough police with child endangerment, simple assault and harassment, court records show. Police accuse Nicola of striking her son, Joshua Sobocinski, his girlfriend Emily Orbash, and a toddler about 8 p.m. Wednesday in Nicola’s residence. She is free on $10,000 bond set by District Judge Robert Redlinger.
