A Bulger man was killed when his vehicle struck a garbage truck early Tuesday in Robinson Township.

Thomas Joseph Hammond, 33, was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash in the 2000 block of Robinson Highway, the Washington County coroner’s office said.

Hammond was pronounced dead at 6:55 a.m. at the scene of the crash. The cause and manner of his death were pending further investigation, Coroner Tim Warco said.

He was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle.
