NORTH FRANKLIN

Assault alleged: Christopher Smith, 40, of Cleveland Road, North Franklin Township, was charged with simple assault and harassment by state police Friday. According to the criminal complaint, Smith hit his girlfriend in the face and slammed her on the ground about 12:50 a.m. Friday at his residence. He was placed in the Washington County jail on $25,000 bond, set by District Judge Ethan Ward.
