Memorial grows for fallen Rostraver paramedic
A memorial began to grow Monday outside Rostraver West Newton Emergency Services to paramedic supervisor Matt Smelser, 44, of Carroll Township, who was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer in the line of duty a day earlier on Interstate 70 in South Huntingdon Township. Gov. Tom Wolf has ordered state flags to be lowered to half-staff on the day of Smelser’s funeral, which will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Marshall Marra Funeral Home, Monongahela.
