Johns Avenue in McDonald closed until May 1
A section of Johns Avenue in McDonald will be closed for a month as the Pennsylvania Turnpike continues to work on flood mitigation efforts from the Southern Beltway.
The road will be closed near its intersection with Route 980 from Monday until May 1 as crews install a 24-inch water line and perform roadway pavement repairs.
Residents of Johns Avenue will still be able to access their homes coming from the opposite direction, while other motorists traveling through the area must use a detour on Noblestown Road that redirects traffic around the closure.
The construction is part of an ongoing effort to control flooding from the nearby toll road.
