Interstate ramp briefly closed in South Fayette for ‘public safety issue’
The Interstate 79 northbound on ramp in South Fayette Township was briefly closed Wednesday.
According to a post on South Fayette Township’s Facebook page, the closure was due to a “public safety issue.”
The township initially made the announcement at about 1:30 p.m., and said it had reopened about an hour later.
State police confirmed the ramp had reopened, but declined to comment on why it had been closed.
