Washington was a snow globe Wednesday, and large flakes swirled outside the county courthouse. Snow was expected to taper off by late Wednesday afternoon.

Large flakes of snow fell over the region Wednesday morning, transforming downtown Washington and surrounding areas into a winter wonderland. The snow was, after weeks of warmer weather and sunshine, a surprise to many, but the winter weather didn’t deter people from getting out and about.
