Shredding event to be held at Crown Center Mall
State Rep. Tim O’Neal will be hosting a shredding event Saturday in the parking lot of Crown Center Mall in North Franklin Township.
It will take place from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. near the former location of Bon-Ton. The event offers an opportunity to guard against identity theft by securely destroying personal documents.
“Each time I hold this event, it is always very popular,” O’Neal said in a press release. “Properly destroying documents with sensitive information helps prevent identity theft. Even if you only have a few documents, I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.”
All paper documents are accepted, and households are limited to three brown paper grocery bags or open small cardboard boxes. Bags are preferred to boxes.
Businesses are discouraged from attending the event. No large binder clips or hardbound covers will be accepted. Materials more than one inch thick will need to be broken down.
Those attending are asked to put all items in the trunk of the car, and not to get out of the vehicle in order to speed up the process.
