Spring has sprung, but Wednesday felt like summer, with temperatures in Southwestern Pennsylvania soaring into the 80s. People of all ages swapped sweaters for lighter apparel and spent the day at local parks and trails.

Deacon Courtwright, 3, of Canonsburg, led his father, Kevin Courtwright, around Town Park, sliding and climbing on all the playgrounds.

Bill and Taffy Kulp, of South Fayette, hit the Montour Trail, where they fastened their helmets and hopped aboard their tandem bike near the Tandem Connection in Canonsburg.

“It’s an amazing resource to have for the community,” Bill Kulp said of the trail, where the couple often walk and run, too, before he and his wife pedaled away.
