Explosion reported in Mt. Pleasant was false alarm

A reported explosion in Mt. Pleasant Township Tuesday afternoon was determined to be a false alarm.

Emergency dispatchers said they received a report of the explosion near the intersection of Route 50 and Route 18 at about 3 p.m. Tuesday.

Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Company confirmed Wednesday that the call was a false alarm.
