Waynesburg to host free concert
Waynesburg University’s Music Program will host a free Chamber Works concert in the Marsh Center at noon Thursday.
The concert, which is open to the public, will feature a variety of student ensembles and soloists. The music program offers instruction to students in woodwind ensemble, percussion ensemble, brass ensemble and string orchestra. Professional, individual lessons are also available to students.
“These groups meet on a weekly basis,” said Eric Brewer, instructor of music and music program director. “They give students the chance to gain confidence in a musical setting where there is only one player to a part.”
A Chamber Works II concert is planned for April 13 at noon in the Marsh Center.
