Parks deparment to host late season muzzleloader, archery hunt at Mingo

The Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation will conduct a late-season flintlock and archery deer hunt in Mingo Creek County Park from Jan. 2 through Jan. 13, 2024.

A non-fee permit will be required to participate. A maximum number of 75 permits will be issued for each day that hunting is permitted.

The Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting applications by mail only from Washington County residents and/or Washington County property owners Nov. 13. If permits remain, non-residents may apply by mail beginning Nov. 20.

Beginning Dec. 11, applications will also be accepted in person at the Parks and Recreation Office located at 100 W. Beau St., Suite 705, Washington.

Applications will be available beginning Oct. 15 on the Washington County Webpage at co.washington.pa.us in PDF format. Click on departments, and go to Parks and Recreation, 2024 Hunting Permit Application. Applications will also be available at the Mingo Creek County Park Office and the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation Office, 705 Courthouse Square, Washington.

All hunters participating must comply with all Pennsylvania Game Commission Rules and Regulations and possess the appropriate stamps and tags as required by the PGC.
