The Blueprints board of directors named a new chief executive officer to replace the nonprofit’s long-time, retiring CEO Darlene Bigler.

Jeff Fondelier, Blueprints’ vice president of operations since 2009, will assume the CEO position on Jan. 1. He praised Bigler’s leadership of the agency during her tenure.

“Darlene’s record of dedication and innovation has resulted in tremendous program and fiscal growth, an increased geographic footprint, and reinforced our reputation of delivering high quality, effective, community-centered service and programs,” Fondelier said. “I am both humbled by, and grateful for, the opportunity to lead Blueprints as its new CEO. This organization is critical to the communities we serve and to the dedicated, passionate staff we employ. The hope and positive impact our programs and services provide will continue to break barriers and build futures for generations to come, and I look forward to helping to build that future.”

Fondelier has been with Blueprints since 2004, when he began his role with the organization as a department director.

Scott Slagle, president of Blueprints’ board of directors, said, “Our board is eternally grateful to Darlene for her vision and leadership, which over the past 30 years, has grown and transformed Blueprints into one of the most important nonprofit organizations in the area. We wish her the very best in her well-deserved retirement.”

Formerly known as Community Action Southwest, Blueprints operates more than 50 programs, serving upward of 20,000 people annually in Washington and Greene counties and throughout West Virginia.
