An unoccupied home in California was destroyed by fire Tuesday night.

California Fire Department Chief Tom Hartley said the house at 945 Pike Run Drive was engulfed in flames before they arrived shortly before 7:30 p.m.

Hartley said the home had been up for sale and nobody was inside at the time. Firefighters were on scene until 10:30 p.m.

The state police fire marshal and California police are investigating the cause of the fire.

Also responding to the scene were Roscoe, West Brownsville, Richeyville, Stockdale and Bentleyville fire departments.
