GetGo returns to the table in North Strabane Township

By Jon Andreassi 1 min read

Giant Eagle is returning to North Strabane Township seeking permission to build a GetGo gas station along Route 19.

Township Manager Andrew Walz said the company has refiled an application and site plans for a convenience store at 580 McClelland Road – the current site of a Kings Family Restaurant.

The issue is due to come before North Strabane’s planning commission at its meeting at 5:30 p.m. Monday. An agenda for the meeting is available on the township’s website.

North Strabane’s zoning hearing board denied the request in a 3-2 vote at an October meeting. Originally, Giant Eagle had requested several variances to build a 6,800-square-foot GetGo. Per the agenda for the upcoming meeting, the company has made adjustments to its plan.

The company is no longer requesting any variances to North Strabane’s zoning code, and the facility will be 6,250-square-feet with six fueling stations.

The North Strabane planning commission meets at the municipal building located at 1929 Route 519.
