A garbage truck that caught fire on Interstate 70/79 near the Murtland Avenue interchange in South Strabane Township snarled traffic for hours Wednesday afternoon. South Strabane firefighters were called to the vehicle fire in the westbound lanes just before the north junction, and also dealt with leaking oil that spilled across multiple lanes. Traffic was diverted onto I-79 south and through the city while crews extinguished the fire and removed the wreckage. It was not immediately known if the driver or occupants in the garbage truck were injured.
