Inmate death reported at SCI Fayette
Officials at SCI-Fayette in Luzerne Township reported the death of an inmate on Aug. 16.
Bradley Shroyer, 42, was found unresponsive in his cell, according to a release from the state Department of Corrections.
Prison staff and EMS responded, and Shroyer was pronounced dead at 12:03 p.m., the release stated.
Shroyer was serving 8 to 16 years in prison on drug charges out of Bedford County. He’d been in SCI- Fayette since March 2022.
State police were notified and will conduct an investigation. Shroyer’s cause of death will be determined by the Washington County coroner’s office, according to the DOC.
