Midway man killed in ATV accident
A Midway man died Friday morning after an all terrain-vehicle accident in Smith Township.
Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco identified the man as 40-year-old Stephen Pasquale.
According to the coroner, the accident occurred at about 8:50 a.m. at mile marker 22 on the Panhandle Trail. Pasquale, who was not wearing a helmet, lost control of the ATV and was ejected. The vehicle then rolled on top of him, the coroner said.
He was declared dead at 10 a.m..
A specific cause and manner of death are pending further investigation.
Smith Township police are investigating. Also responding to the scene were the sheriff’s department, McDonald police, Midway Fire Department, Smith Township Fire Department, Fort Cherry EMS and Ambulance and Chair Service.
