Charleroi man arrested in stabbing
Charleroi police arrested a man Sunday night after he was accused of stabbing another man multiple times.
Samuel Junior Marcelin, 25, of Charleroi, faces a felony of aggravated assault. According to the criminal complaint, at about 7 p.m. police were called to the 500 block of Washington Avenue.
Marcelin is accused in court documents of stabbing Jacques Jackson with a small folding knife in the back of the head and his shoulder.
Jackson, of Charleroi, was transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he received stitches.
Police arrested Marcelin on Cherry Street. He also faces misdemeanor charges of simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime and disorderly conduct.
Marcelin was arraigned Monday morning before District Judge Joshua Kanalis, who sent him to the Washington County jail without bond. Per online court records, Kanalis denied bond due to Marcelin providing the judge a different address than he gave police.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Aug. 29.
