Pepper tabbed as new Charleroi board president

Barbara Pepper is the new president of the Charleroi Area School Board.

Pepper will replace Ken Wiltz, who died Aug. 14 at the age of 79. Wiltz had served as a school director for 49 years, the last 22 as the board president.

Each of the six board members in attendance at Tuesday’s board meeting voted in favor of Pepper as president. Not in attendance were Heather Keranko and Toni Pellegrini.

Pepper became vice president earlier this year when Adele Hopkins stepped down from the position.
