Burgettstown man charged with child pornography possession
State police charged a Burgettstown man Monday for alleged possession of material depicting the sexual abuse of children.
John Bailey, 63, faces felony charges of child pornography and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as a misdemeanor of tampering with evidence.
According to the criminal complaint, police received a tip in January 2023 that Bailey uploaded child pornography to his Google Drive. The next month, investigators served a search warrant at Bailey’s home in the 1700 block of Main Street.
Two devices previously connected to the Google account were not found in the search. Police accused Bailey of destroying the devices after losing access to the account.
Bailey was arraigned Wednesday before District Judge Gary Havelka, who released him on $50,000 unsecured bond.
