North Strabane Township supervisors approved a more than $985,000 contract for the paving of McDowell Lane at Tuesday’s meeting.

Township Manager Andrew Walz said the contract went to Charleroi-based Morgan Excavating. The project calls for paving the entire length of the road. It was not clear when the work may begin.

“We’re working with the contractor to figure it out. It will be completed before the end of the year,” Walz said.

According to Walz, the township has future plans to add walking trails along McDowell.
