The communities of Southwestern Pennsylvania started the Christmas season on a joyful note over the weekend. Washington County got into the spirit with the Observer-Reporter Holiday Market. There were plenty of vendors in Washington on Saturday for those ready to do their Christmas shopping. The evening of music and Christmas activities was capped with the Washington Christmas Parade. In Greene County, the annual Christmas on High Street brought some holiday cheer to the main drag of Waynesburg on Saturday. The evening featured a Christmas tree lighting and ended with a fireworks display. Musical acts took to the steps of the Greene County Courthouse to provide entertainment. Christmas on High Street is put on by the Waynesburg-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department.
