East Washington holding ‘Light Up Night’ on Saturday
East Washington Borough will be hosting its second annual Light Up Night from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Nicholas Cumer Park on Thayer Street in the borough.
The evening begins at 6 p.m. with the movie “Elf” playing in the background on a large inflatable screen, and Royal Princess Engagements will be there along with Santa’s friends. Children can visit with Santa and decorate an ornament to take home.
There will be free hot chocolate and cookies for all, along with Hogfather’s food truck serving meals and the “Coffin Bean” coffee trailer – pulled by a festively decorated Christmas hearse – selling a variety of coffees, cappuccino and fresh baked goods.
Visitors are encouraged to help decorate the borough’s community holiday tree by bringing an ornament from home. People can also bring a toy to donate to the Toys for Tots program. The tree lighting is scheduled for 8 p.m.
