Electrical issues shut down Tanger Outlets for day

By Jon Andreassi 1 min read

There was no Christmas shopping at Tanger Outlets Monday after electrical issues shut down the mall for the day.

South Strabane Township Fire Department Chief Jordan Cramer said they were called to Tanger at about 9 a.m., and that multiple stores were experiencing electrical problems.

As of 4 p.m. Monday, West Penn Power and electricians were still on scene trying to determine the cause of the outage and restore power.

“We have to systematically go through and reenergize each suite to make sure nothing burns up when the power is restored,” Cramer said.

Tanger posted to its Facebook page that the outlets would reopen at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

No injuries were reported.
