Several local police departments, fire departments and other first responders held a “Shop with a Hero” event Sunday at the Target store in South Strabane Township.
Several local police departments, fire departments and other first responders held a “Shop with a Hero” event Sunday at the Target store in South Strabane Township.
South Strabane police officers and firefighters, Washington County sheriff’s deputies and Washington police officers took 17 students from Trinity Area and Washington school districts on a shopping spree.
The event was funded through the fire department’s “Fill the Boot” drive and a donation from Health Benefits Group Inc.
Big Guys Pizza in Meadow Lands also donated 18 pizzas and soda for the event.
South Strabane police Officer John Beckus organized the shopping spree and worked closely with Target’s store leadership team to make it a success.
