One injured in North Strabane fire
One person was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital after a fire broke out in a North Strabane Township home Sunday night.
North Strabane fire Chief Rich Yosi said they were called to the 4000 block of Bentwood Drive about 11:20 p.m.
“The initial crews found a small fire in a room in the basement, and it was quickly extinguished,” Yosi said.
One person was treated at the scene by Ambulance and Chair before being transported to a landing zone at Borland Manor Elementary School.
Yosi declined to identify the victim. State police did not respond to requests for additional details prior to Monday’s deadline.
Yosi described the room where the fire started as a small office. An exact cause has yet to be determined.
“We’re not sure yet, but it is under investigation by the state police fire marshal. And they do believe it was accidental,” Yosi said.
Washington, Peters Township and Canonsburg fire departments also responded to the scene.
