The Bradford House Museum and the Whiskey Rebellion Education and Visitor Center have received Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) through funds donated to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Association.
Bradford House Historical Association staff and volunteers decided AED devices were needed after attending CPR training in the spring. Connections were made with Cheryl Rickens, an EMS specialist with UPMC and SCAA chair.
Money was raised through basketball tournaments produced by brothers Connor and Aiden Lyczek as part of their senior projects at Seneca Valley High School, which focused on sudden cardiac arrest. The unexpected loss of their uncle at the age of 53 to sudden cardiac arrest was their reason for their senior project choice.
Those funds, plus others from the SCAA western chapter, paid for the AEDs.
“Our organization is grateful for this life-saving donation,” said Tracie Liberatore, Bradford House Association executive director.
