IRS taxpayer assistance center opens in Washington
The Taxpayer Assistance Center (TAC) has opened in Washington, the Internal Revenue Service has announced.
It is located at 162 W. Chestnut St. All taxpayer assistance centers operate by appointment. Free parking is available and public transportation serves this location.
Because of additional federal funding, the IRS has hired more than 5,000 new employees, including adding staff to TAC locations and reopening offices that had been closed due to employee attrition.
