Washington man accused of hitting woman with car
State police arrested a Washington man Friday afternoon after being accused of hitting a woman with his car.
William J. Yarbrough Jr., 54, faces a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to the criminal complaint, police were called at about 4 p.m. to a fast-food restaurant in the 1200 block of West Chestnut Street in North Franklin Township.
The woman told police she had gotten into an argument with Yarbrough and began walking away from him. Yarbrough then hit her with his car, causing her to go over top of the vehicle, according to court documents. A witness called 911, and the woman was transported to Washington Hospital.
Yarbrough was arraigned Friday night before District Judge Joshua Kanalis, who sent him to the Washington County jail without bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Feb. 6.
