Three people were injured as a result of a drive-by shooting in Canonsburg Thursday night.
Canonsburg police Chief Alex Coghill said the shooting occurred shortly before midnight in the 500 block of Blaine Avenue.
“When officers responded they found three victims (with) gunshot wounds. None of them appeared to be life threatening,” Coghill said.
The victims included two women and a man, but Coghill declined to identify them. All three were taken by ambulance to Pittsburgh area hospitals for treatment.
Thursday’s shooting was just one day after a post on the department’s Facebook page that stated they were seeking information on shots being fired in Canonsburg’s east end earlier in the week.
According to the post, Monday and Tuesday nights several gunshots were reported between Franklin and Highland Avenues. Police said there was no apparent target or motive.
“We’re investigating, obviously, the angle that they are related. We believe they’re related,” Coghill said.
The investigation into the shootings is a joint operation between Canonsburg police, county detectives and state police. No arrests have been made.
“We’re working in conjunction with each other to try to piece this together,” Coghill said.
