The Whiskey Rebellion Festival in Washington featured street theater about the 1790s rebellion that swept through Western Pennsylvania.

The 13th annual Whiskey Rebellion Festival brought music, history, food and, of course, whiskey to downtown Washington Friday and Saturday.

Named after the 1790s uprising against the federal government over a whiskey tax, the festival had historic reenactors telling the story of the Whiskey Rebellion, tours of the Washington County Courthouse and the Bradford House and music from the Clarks and the Washington Symphony Orchestra.

Visitors were also able to sample various types of whiskey in the festival’s Whiskey and Spirits Walk.
