Chester County man jailed for alleged North Strabane Township assault
A man from Chester County is in jail without bond after he was accused of assaulting a woman in a North Strabane Township hotel room and not allowing her to leave.
Marios George Migias, 27, of Exton, was charged by North Strabane police Sunday with felonies of kidnapping and strangulation.
According to the criminal complaint, Migias was visiting the area with his girlfriend because he was a member of a bridal party. At about 8:45 p.m. Saturday police were called to conduct a welfare check at the DoubleTree Hotel on Racetrack Road after Migias did not attend the wedding.
When police found Migias and his girlfriend in the room, according to the complaint, the woman had visible bruising on her face, chin and feet. She told investigators Migias had assaulted her, and he was taken into custody.
According to the complaint, the woman also had bruising on her thighs and redness on her neck.
Court documents allege that Migias began abusing the woman after they arrived in the county. She told police that Migias was making her stay in the room until the bruises healed.
According to the complaint, the woman did not sleep, shower or eat for about three days. Migias is accused of intentionally keeping her awake, and not allowing her out of sight.
The woman told investigators that Migias showed her a list on his phone of people he wanted to kill or harm. This alleged list was why District Judge John Bruner denied Migias bond, according to online court records.
He also faces misdemeanor charges terroristic threats, unlawful restraint and simple assault
Migias was arraigned before Judge Bruner Sunday morning. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. June 11.
