Trinity to graduate 266 seniors
Trinity Area High School will hold commencement exercises for 266 seniors at 5:15 p.m. Friday at the high school.
Valedictorians are Michael Allen, Ava Campman, Natalie Ewbank, Matthew Heffner, Sophia Misner, Agatha Niccolai, Carolyn Proudfit, Nathan Sander and Sydney Wahl. Riley Howard is salutatorian, and Isabella Jobes is honor graduate.
Allen is the son of Kayla and Tina Vuchinich of Washington. He was an AP Scholar with Distinction and received the Auberle Academic Achievement Award for Disparaged Youth. He will attend Penn State University and major in aerospace engineering.
Campman is the daughter of Dr. Sarah Campman and Robert Campman of Washington. She received the AP Scholar with Honor award, and will attend the Honors College at the University of Pittsburgh, with plans to major in environmental studies and minor in philosophy.
Ewbank is the daughter of Shawn and Brandie Ewbank of Washington. She received the Kiwanis Scholarship, GBU The Challenge Program Academic Excellence Award, and the Distinguished Scholar Waiver from the University of Florida, where she will major in international studies with a European concentration on a pre-law track.
Heffner is the son of Bill and Christy Heffner of Washington. He was an AP Scholar with Distinction and received the Challenge Program STEM Award and Math and Computer Science department awards. He will attend Case Western Reserve University.
Misner is the daughter of Josh Misner of Waynesboro, Pa., and Brian and Erin Snyder of Prosperity. She received merit and creative and performing arts scholarships from Allegheny College, where she will pursue a degree in environmental science and sustainability.
Niccolai is the daughter of Amy and Brian Niccolai of Washington. She received the AP Scholar Award and National Buckeye Scholarship. She will study biomedical engineering at Ohio State University.
Proudfit is the daughter of Cathi and Robert Proudfit of Washington. She received the AP Scholar Award and will attend Wake Forest University to major in biology on the pre-medicine track and minor in Spanish.
Sander is the son of Jennifer Reinhardt. He received the John Philip Sousa Music Award and Ron Matthews Memorial Chemistry Award. He will major in photography at Temple University.
Wahl is the daughter of Sheryl Wahl of Washington, and Dr. Mark Wahl and Wendi Wahl of Mattawan, Mich. She received the Amelia Earhart Award from the Zonta Women’s Club of Washington County and will attend West Virginia University to pursue a six-year pharmacy degree.
Howard is the son of Dana Pettit of Washington and the late Brandon Howard. He received the Frank Moss Memorial Scholarship and Innovators Scholarship from West Virginia University, where he will study engineering.
Jobes is the daughter of Lauren Ruffing of Washington. She received the Trinity FFA Scholarship and Anica Donnan Rawnsley Scholarship. She will attend Washington & Jefferson College where she will double major in environmental science and biology with a minor in Spanish.
