Chartiers Township man injured in crash

A Chartiers Township man was flown to Pittsburgh Thursday evening after he was ejected from his car in a single-vehicle crash.

According to Chartiers Township police, first responders were called to the 300 block of Welsh Road at 7:05 p.m. A 28-year-old man driving east on Welsh struck a tree and flipped his vehicle. Police did not identify the driver.

The vehicle was on fire when officers arrived. Due to the severity of his injuries, the driver was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital via helicopter.

Chartiers police were assisted by Chartiers Township Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Township Fire Department and state police. Washington Ambulance and Chair also responded.

No other injuries were reported.
