BENTLEYVILLE
Drug charges: Jeffrey Reed Cable, 53, of Mount Pleasant, and Holly Suzanne Gowton, 55, of Ruffs Dale, are charged by Bentleyville police with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute and criminal use of a communication facility. According to the criminal complaint, shortly after midnight on Sunday police pulled over a vehicle occupied by Cable and Gowton in the 800 block of Main Street for an expired registration. Police said there were active bench warrants for their arrests, and that Cable had a suspended license. Police obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and discovered more than 480 grams of cocaine, according to the complaint. The pair were using their cellphones to facilitate drug sales, court documents state. Both Cable and Gowton were arraigned Sunday morning before District Judge Kelly Stewart, who sent them to the Washington County jail on $50,000 bond.
WEST PIKE RUN
Assault alleged: A warrant has been issued for Giovonie Tyree Isbell, 19, of Monessen. State police charged Isbell Saturday with charges of strangulation and simple assault. According to the criminal complaint, police were called to a home in the 40 block of Walkertown Hill Road at about 9:20 p.m. Friday. Isbell is accused in court documents of choking and punching his girlfriend. Isbell had fled the scene before police arrived.
