W&J holds 225th Commencement Ceremony
Washington & Jefferson College held its 225th Commencement Ceremony Saturday in the James David Ross Family Recreation Center, honoring more than 215 undergraduate and graduate students. Dr. Elizabeth Kiss, CEO of the Rhodes Trust and warden of Rhodes House at the University of Oxford, delivered the commencement address. In her speech “What Should I Pack for My Journey?” Kiss highlighted how the values students learned at W&J will support them on their journey through life. The senior address was presented by Brenden Guesman, a communication arts and English major with an emphasis in creative writing and a business administration minor. Guesman highlighted the resilience of the Class of 2024, recalling the first year of college during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic and noting how this commencement was the class’s “first proper graduation.”
