Teen Center hosts Love Anyway Feast

Teens at the Common Ground Teen Center, located at 92 N. Main St. in Washington, will be hosting a Love Anyway Feast from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14.
The Love Anyway Feast is an open house and patterned after the Common Ground USA events.
The goal of the feast is to give teens a tangible sign of the support the community has for them, no matter adult angst or politics, said Teen Center director Dr. Mary Jo Podgurski in a news release.
Young people are affected by adult concerns, and even though they do not vote, they followed the election process, Podgurski said. The Teen Center is a space for common ground, and we want teens to know adults have their back and acknowledge their worth, Podgurski said.
The Teen Center’s Cooking Club meets each Thursday, and on Nov. 14, the teens will create a favorite dish to share.
Community adults and families, as well as teens, are invited to join them at the center. Each person should bring a pot luck dish that represents heritage or food tradition in their family. Attendees will enjoy a meal and chat.
